“To avoid criticism do nothing, say nothing, be nothing.”
— Elbert Hubbard
Simplified Meaning:
If you try to avoid being criticized, you would have to never do anything, never say anything, and basically disappear from society. Imagine if someone wanted everyone to like them, so they decided to never speak up in meetings, never share their ideas, and never take on any projects at work. In the end, they wouldn't stand out or make any impact. Just like how a painter wouldn’t receive feedback on their art if they never show it to anyone, we wouldn’t face criticism if we never step out and do something. However, this means missing out on all the experiences and achievements that come from taking action and being active. It’s better to accept that criticism is a part of life and focus on improving ourselves, rather than hiding away.
