Simplified Meaning:

Doublethink is when a person believes two opposite things at the same time and thinks both are true. For example, consider a person who believes that they should always tell the truth, but also believes it's okay to lie to protect someone's feelings. Both ideas oppose each other, but they accept and act on both beliefs. This can be seen in politics where a leader might say they love peace but still support wars, genuinely believing in both peace and conflict at the same time. Applying this to daily life, someone might feel they need to save money yet often spend a lot on unnecessary things, fully believing both in saving and spending. Doublethink can be confusing, yet people often use it to deal with complex situations without fully realizing the contradiction.
