Simplified Meaning:

When people don’t understand something, they often react in one of two ways: they either admire it a lot or they become scared of it. Imagine a person who has never seen modern technology before. When they see a smartphone for the first time, they might think it’s magical and treat it with great respect. On the other hand, they could also be afraid of it because it’s so unfamiliar. This idea can be applied to many situations in life. For example, when someone is new to a job, they might either look up to their experienced coworkers as heroes or feel nervous around them because they don’t yet understand how everything works. By becoming more knowledgeable about the things that confuse or scare us, we can respond to them in a more balanced way—neither overly impressed nor unnecessarily frightened.
