“Where is wisdom we have lost in knowledge? Where is knowledge we have lost in information?”

Simplified Meaning:

Often, wisdom is about making good judgments and having deep understanding, but sometimes, we lose this wisdom because we focus too much on just collecting facts and knowledge. Knowledge involves learning facts and information, but it doesn't always help us make better decisions or understand things deeply. Nowadays, we are bombarded with so much raw information, especially from the internet and media, that it becomes difficult to process and use it effectively. Take, for instance, a doctor treating a patient. The doctor has a lot of information from tests and medical records (information), the training to diagnose illnesses (knowledge), and the experience to choose the best treatment considering the patient's unique situation (wisdom). If the doctor gets overwhelmed by just the data from tests without understanding the patient's needs or life context, they might not make the best decision for the patient. In our everyday lives, this means we should not just seek to collect facts and figures but also try to understand what they mean and how we can use them wisely. By doing so, we make better choices and gain true wisdom.
